Swedish/ Relaxation- Swedish massage is one of the most commonly offered massage techniques. It’s sometimes called a classic massage. The technique aims to promote relaxation by releasing muscle tension. Swedish massage is gentler than deep tissue massage and better suited for people interested in relaxation and tension relief.
Deep tissue- Deep tissue massage is a massage technique that’s mainly used to treat musculoskeletal issues, such as strains and sports injuries. It involves applying sustained pressure using slow, deep strokes to target the inner layers of your muscles and connective tissues. Integrative Massage- Integrative Massage is the application of specific treatment protocols targeting the specific problem(s) each client presents with. It is the practical application of numerous hands on techniques to treat a clients specific areas of dysfunction during a massage session. This modality captures varying massage techniques and combines them into the massage that meets all your needs. The therapist can determine which techniques to use in different areas of the body allowing for the optimal experience. It can target what areas you need deep tissue, which areas just need overall relaxation, and which may need trigger point work or myofascial release. Integrated massage is one stop shop.
Prenatal Massage- Prenatal massage is therapeutic bodywork that focuses on the special needs of the mother-to-be as her body goes through the dramatic changes of pregnancy. It enhances the function of muscles and joints, improves circulation and general body tone, and relieves mental and physical fatigue.
Medical Massage- Medical massage is outcome-based massage, primarily the application of a specific treatment targeted to the specific problem(s) the patient presents with a diagnosis and are administered after a thorough assessment/evaluation by the medical massage therapist with specific outcomes being the basis for treatment. Although some insurances may cover medical massage, I do not bill your insurance. I will gladly provide you with necessary documentation to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
